The Book-Burners are more DIY than your band, and give so-called "prolific" artists a bad name. Equal parts songwriting collective and straight-up rock band, the various members of this scattered Midwestern outfit live by a simple four-step code: write, record, peel faces off skulls, repeat.
"Who Are You, My Darling?" is textbook-burner material--naked, "anyone could do this" romance put to two-minute song. The riffs are simple, the melodies easy, the lyrics universal, but put it all together, and...no. No one else could do this except five working-class weirdos spanning three Midwestern states. Write an EP of 5 "Who Are You, My Darlings" in a weekend...I dare ya. The Book-Burners do it on the reg. (DJ Hostettler)
